AMAZON SELLER ANALYTICS
See sales and advertising in one set of numbers.
Analytics built for Amazon sellers.
Revolts Analytics is an analytics service for businesses selling on Amazon. It retrieves data only from seller accounts that the seller themselves has explicitly authorized through Amazon OAuth, using the Amazon Selling Partner API (SP-API) and the Amazon Ads API. Sales, units sold, inventory and traffic are placed alongside advertising cost and advertising sales so they can be compared on the same timeline.
- We access only the accounts that their owner has authorized, and only within the scope granted.
- We do not collect or use buyer personally identifiable information (PII) such as names, addresses or phone numbers.
- Authorization can be revoked at any time in Seller Central. We stop retrieving new data once it is revoked.
01 SERVICE
Service overview
For an Amazon seller, sales data lives in Seller Central and advertising data lives in the Amazon Ads console, so the two are reviewed on separate screens. Revolts Analytics retrieves both through the official APIs and presents them on a shared timeline, so a seller can look back and see how sales and units moved after an advertising change.
- Operator
- Revolts (trade name of a sole proprietorship)
- Service name
- Revolts Analytics (sales and advertising analytics system for Amazon sellers)
- How it is offered
- Provided individually to Amazon sellers following a direct enquiry. The service is currently offered to a limited number of sellers.
- APIs used
- Amazon Selling Partner API (SP-API) and Amazon Ads API
- Marketplace
- Primarily Amazon.co.jp (Japan)
Whose data we access
This service retrieves data through the SP-API and the Amazon Ads API only from seller accounts whose owner has explicitly approved the connection of our application on the Amazon authorization (OAuth) screen. We never access accounts belonging to other sellers who have not granted authorization, and we do not scrape or otherwise collect data from Amazon websites. A seller can revoke the authorization at any time from Manage Your Apps in Seller Central, after which we stop retrieving new data from that account.
Who it is for
- Companies and sole proprietors selling on Amazon.co.jp
- Sellers running Amazon advertising (for example Sponsored Products) who want to see the relationship between advertising spend and total sales
- Sellers who currently review sales data and advertising data on separate screens and spend time reconciling them
- Sellers who want to review profitability per product together with inventory, traffic and advertising
The service can be used only with seller accounts that the user administers, or accounts they operate on behalf of an owner who grants the authorization.
02 FEATURES
Main features
Retrieved data is aggregated per product and per period, and presented as the figures needed to make advertising decisions.
Sales, units, inventory and traffic in one place
Sales amount, units sold, FBA inventory and sessions are shown together, by product (ASIN / SKU) and by period.
Advertising cost, ad sales, ROAS and TACoS
Advertising cost, advertising-attributed sales, ROAS and TACoS (advertising cost as a share of total sales) are calculated and shown over time.
Before and after an advertising change
Using the date of a bid or budget change as the reference point, total sales, total units and advertising cost are compared across the periods before and after.
Detection of declining efficiency
Products and campaigns whose ROAS, TACoS, sales or units fall below a configured threshold are listed for review.
Support for keep / reduce / restore decisions
Figures including the effect on sales while advertising was paused are presented side by side, as material for deciding whether to keep, reduce or restore advertising. The decision and the operation remain with the seller.
Profitability analysis
Available cost items such as Amazon fees and advertising cost are deducted from sales to show profitability per product and per period.
What this service does not do
The service is for analysis and visualization. It does not automatically change bids, budgets or campaigns on behalf of the seller; those operations are performed by the seller in the Amazon console. Analytical output is reference material for decision-making and does not guarantee any sales or advertising outcome.
03 DATA
Data we retrieve and how we use it
For each authorized seller account, we retrieve the following data through the APIs. We request only what the analysis requires, and we do not retrieve data for any other purpose.
| Data type | Source | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Order and sales data (order date and time, quantity, amount, currency, ASIN / SKU, order status) | SP-API | Aggregating sales and units, comparing periods, reconciling with advertising results |
| Product data (ASIN, SKU, title, listing price, category) | SP-API | Aggregation and display per product; matching against the product list |
| Inventory data (FBA inventory quantity, fulfillable quantity, replenishment needs) | SP-API | Identifying stock-outs and excess inventory; deciding whether advertising should continue |
| Traffic data (sessions, page views, unit session percentage) | SP-API | Understanding traffic and conversion; breaking down advertising effect |
| Fee and settlement data (referral fees, FBA fees, refunds, monetary items in settlement reports) | SP-API | Profitability analysis per product and per period |
| Advertising performance (impressions, clicks, spend, attributed sales, campaign / ad group / keyword settings) | Amazon Ads API | Calculating ROAS and TACoS, before/after comparison, detecting declining efficiency |
Data we do not retrieve (buyer PII)
This service is designed not to retrieve, store or use personally identifiable information about buyers. Specifically, we do not request any of the following.
- Buyer names
- Shipping addresses and billing addresses
- Phone numbers
- Email addresses, including buyer-anonymized addresses
- Payment information such as card numbers
- Free-text fields written by buyers, such as gift messages
Our analysis uses only aggregable fields: amounts, quantities, timestamps and product identifiers. Where an API response or report contains buyer information fields, those fields are not stored and are discarded during processing. We never use data to identify an individual buyer or to contact buyers.
Purpose of use
- To provide analysis, reports and screens to the seller who granted the authorization
- To verify operation, investigate incidents and improve the accuracy of the analysis
- To respond to enquiries
Data is not used for any purpose beyond the above. We do not sell, share or otherwise provide data to third parties, and we do not use it for advertising purposes. Data belonging to different sellers is kept separate and is never disclosed to another user in a form that identifies the seller.
04 SECURITY & PRIVACY
Security and privacy
Data retrieved from Amazon and the credentials used to connect are handled as follows. The service complies with the Amazon Data Protection Policy and the Acceptable Use Policy.
- Encryption in transit
- All communication with the Amazon APIs and with users is encrypted using TLS (HTTPS). Data is never transmitted over an unencrypted channel.
- Encryption at rest
- Retrieved data and credentials are stored encrypted. Access keys and refresh tokens are stored in encrypted form and are never rendered on screen or written to logs.
- Access control
- Access to data is limited to the personnel required to operate the service. Authentication is required, privileges follow the principle of least privilege, and access records are retained.
- Data separation
- Data is held separately per seller account and is never commingled with another user data.
- No buyer PII
- We do not retrieve or store buyer personally identifiable information, so buyer data cannot be exposed from this service by design.
- Revoking authorization
- A seller can revoke the application at any time from Manage Your Apps in Seller Central. We stop retrieving new data from that account once revoked.
- Retention and deletion
- On termination of use, revocation, or a deletion request, retained data and credentials are deleted within 30 days as a rule, except records we are legally required to keep.
- Incident response
- If unauthorized access or a data leak is suspected, we promptly assess the scope and take the necessary steps, including notifying the affected users and Amazon.
- Subprocessors
- Cloud service providers are used for storage and processing. We confirm that appropriate safeguards are in place before use.
